The RPOA-IUU Newsletter July – September 2025

We are pleased to announce the release of the RPOA-IUU Newsletter for Quarter 3 (July–September 2025), marking another important chapter in our collective efforts to combat Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing across the region.

Throughout this quarter, RPOA-IUU and its participating countries have continued to demonstrate strong commitment and collaboration in addressing the complex and transboundary challenges posed by IUU fishing. This edition reflects the steady progress made through regional dialogue, strengthened partnerships, and coordinated actions aimed at safeguarding marine biodiversity, food security, and the sustainability of fisheries.

In this issue, readers will find highlights of key meetings, capacity-building initiatives, and policy-related developments undertaken during the third quarter of 2025. The newsletter showcases practical experiences, best practices, and lessons learned from joint surveillance efforts, regional forums, and cooperation with international and regional partners. These collective efforts underscore the importance of information sharing, innovation, and solidarity in achieving meaningful and lasting impact.

This edition also emphasizes the collaborative spirit that lies at the heart of the RPOA-IUU framework. By featuring contributions and activities involving member countries, partner organizations, and advisory bodies, the newsletter illustrates how shared responsibility and mutual support continue to strengthen regional responses to IUU fishing.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all contributors who made this newsletter possible, including the editorial team, partners, and participating countries, for their continued dedication and valuable contributions. Their commitment plays a vital role in advancing the objectives of RPOA-IUU and promoting responsible fishing practices throughout the region.

We invite you to explore the Q3 edition of the RPOA-IUU Newsletter and join us in our ongoing efforts to protect marine resources and promote sustainable and responsible fisheries management. Together, through cooperation and perseverance, we move closer to a future free from IUU fishing.
